TPFers Seek To Form A Union
(Necessary or Not ?)
"As an employee, it seems that many people at DT and Worldspan have been jerked around for about 8 years
now. Some have lost company retirement when they were months to a
couple of years away from full retirement. Nobody can count on medical benefits anymore when they do retire, the companies are intertwined and
cannot work together because managers are in the way. It must cost Delta at least 5 times what their dedicated, capable IT department did 8
years ago. Not only did they all have the company's best interest in mind, but worked hard for Delta.
We work with some of the best TPFers at DT and Worldspan. We have watched what happened to other businesses (System One, Covia, Eastern,
United, Galileo, etc.) with their TPF systems and don't like where we are headed. Seems union is one answer.
Just my thoughts."

"Mention of the word 'union' in a labour context is apt to
cause concern to management. Unfortunately there is a belief that
something that might cause the workforce to act in an organised fashion
over issues which affect them all is likely to make things more difficult
for the employer.
In reality belonging to a union should be no different from having
house insurance. It's there if you ever need it but you hope you
never
do."
