So, what does the future hold for TPF ? Recent trends are towards the following:
- IBM has finally recognised TPF's potential for a wider user-base
- TPF Development tools are catching up with other environments
- TPF is becoming 'internet ready'
- IBM may finally resume actively marketing TPF (!)
In the coming months I'd like to look a little closer at each of these items and other
possible ways forward for our venerable operating system. Why not a version of TPF
on your desktop ? It almost made it when it became usable on the P/390...
(Perhaps we should have a competition to compose the aggravating jingles it should play
when it IPLs, or when it causes a CTL-1 ?).
For now take a look at what IBM recently said about TPF
Read about the announcement to incorporate the Apache web server
into mainstream IBM e-commerce offerings.
If you have ideas on where TPF should be going please send them in, this should be an exciting time for TPF
so don't waste any opportunity to voice an opinion.
