C  Programming Titles

Like it or not the days when BAL was enough to be a TPF programmer are long gone.   As TPF prepares to enter the new millenium a whole new breed of young programmers are emerging that know little assembler but are highly proficient in C or C++.  If you haven't begun to learn C then now is the time to start because almost all new code being developed by IBM is now in C.

Don't worry too much though, we've selected some introductory books that can help you get to grips with the language quickly and then we have some more challenging texts that will help you squeeze more performance from your code or help spot those cryptic syntax errors that seem to plague advanced C.

If you've seen a useful C book that we don't mention here tell us and we'll add it to the list, your TPF colleagues will thank you for it !

Absolute Beginners Guide to C - Gregory M. Perry

The C Programming Language:ANSI C Version - Kernighan & Ritchie
